VTT

We are packed up to return to AZ for a couple of weeks but not wanting to miss out on VTT I will quickly show a couple of vintage Thrift Store bargains from the Humane Society here in Ridgway.

The first this bowl with the lovely flower decal and gold rim, I use it a lot to serve veges- it reminds me of those that were popular in my youth. No marks on the bottom so I have no idea of it's origin but I thought it was pretty and I think I paid 50 cents or a dollar for it.

And two handy sized little Pyrex bowls, I had nothing like them so I snapped them up for a dollar or two and use them almost daily.
I can't imagine why anyone would give away these treasures,
Can you?
On closer inspection it looks as if I need to soak this to remove whatever is adhered to it- the dishwasher doesn't do detail work!
I photographed the letters from the wrong side, but I'm guessing this indicates the size of the bowl?

And do you find it odd that some of us are so enamored of these simple old relics of a bygone age?!

Great finds! I find the scalloped edge on the veggie bowl unusual. Pretty!

I don't find that odd at all! I found a few of those little clear bowl at a church rummage sale last year and I was thrilled!

Happy VTT!

I don't find it odd at all! My favorite (and most used!) Pyrex bowls are the plain white mixing bowls. I use them daily! I love that they have a little spout and that they are the perfect size for holding side dishes!

Gotta love Pyrex!Your clear Pyrex with the scallopy handlets (the one you want to clean up;) is quite old-later they switched to the smooth handlets.

I don't find it odd! I enjoy using the relics of yesteryear. They sure seem to hold up better then the newer stuff out there.

I am one of the truly enamored of anything vintage. I would have scooped up that pyrex bowl too!

The flowery bowl is beautiful! I have had a clear glass casserole for ages and only through VTT I learned about the milk glass Pyrex things - now I have two of them.

I don't find it odd at all, pyrex is practical, it does its job well and a lot of it is just so lovely to look at! They don't make any glassware better today (IMHO) Can you tell I myself am a pyrex junkie?! :)

Great pyrex dishes. I have some that I enjoy using too, the old glass is so much nicer than the new plastic!
