Are we nearly there?!
Button has an elevated doggy seat, strapped down with the seat belts, and a harness that keeps her safe if we have to make a sudden stop.
She's a great little traveller, very patient and undemanding!
We still do not know why she gets lame on the gravel road, vet checked her over thoroughly and found nothing to be concerned about. We think perhaps she may have sprained a toe and the uneven surfaces of the gravel roads stress the damaged ligaments where flat surfaces don't.
She is on Rimadyl for a week and we will see how she does when we return to CO. next week and the rocky roads!

Oh, man! I can so identify with your little doggie, right down to the injured toe pain. lol Maybe I was a doggie in another life, eh?
Well, not really. She is a cutie.
Oh Button you are way too cute and such royalty...you are one lucky dog to have such great humans!!!
What a sweet little doggie you have!
LOL! What a great traveler. I'm glad the vet could find nothing serious.
Maybe, just maybe she becomes limp on gravel roads because she does not like the feel of the gravel on her royal little paws and knows you will carry her:)
Sooo photogenic!! She oughta be in pictures! :) Thanks for the update.
So cute. We are anticipating a 1000 mile trip with two dogs next month: hope they do as well.
