I purchased this china in the mid sixties In Australia and for some years it was my "good" china, the kind I used for dinner guests. It has cups and saucers, bread plates, small and larger dinner plates and dessert/soup bowls
It was a 36 piece setting for 6 and it is only missing a couple of items.
Looks pretty retro doesn't it?
I also have no idea why I have hung on to it all these years, for decades I have packed it up and moved it from Australia, to USA, to Europe and back and forth around the USA! And it has not been used for a very, very long time. Go figure huh?
Guess I just like it - still.
I do remember, my mom used to have similar set.. but unfortunately I don't know where all of it went to.. teehee. and your set looks as new! thanks for sharing. happy VTT
ReplyDeleteGlad you kept it! The colors and the pattern are SO 1960s. Great set!
ReplyDeleteit's beautiful. You should use it! I just decided recently to start using all the pretty things I have instead of waiting for 'someday.' I'm enjoying using them for the every day moments!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very 60s. It would look very nice and refreshing on a vintage solid green tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteI guess you just must like it. If sixties are vintage, then so am I. Ugh! Happy VTT.
ReplyDeleteIt is not always the price of something that is important. It is what it means to you. These dishes are very pretty and you did the right thing in keeping them.
ReplyDeleteThey're so very pretty Ros, and I'm so happy for you that you kept them. Happy VTT..and have a wonderful weekend..
ReplyDeleteI think it's very pretty and I'd pull it out of storage and start enjoying it daily if it were mine! The colors are fabulous and it is in wonderful condition~ thanks for sharing and Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteIt must be important to you, and I kind of like the shape of teh cups and bowls.
ReplyDeleteWe all do that. The dishes mean something to you and it is comforting to always have them with you. The things I have carried around with me, my poor daughter some day will have to deal with. LOL For now I keep them. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are glad you kept it! It is beautiful and worthy of being kept all this time!
