PS. Ouch, I Sewed My Finger!

Forgot to include this tit-bit in the previous post-guess what happens when you sew into the wee small hours?
This is the second [only]occasion in all my life I can remember sewing into the nail bed, hope that doesn't gross you out! Today it is throbbing a bit so I need to watch it. I have managed to catch the nail only or the side of my finger a few times and I felt really foolish about this but it's maybe a lesson for me!?
The good news is that I only got a tiny spot of blood on the fabric which was red anyway,LOL.

  6. It gives me chills to look at it. Fortunately, I have never done that, (knock on wood) but my daughter, when she was learning to sew, went up her finger 3 stitches before she was able to stop it. Painful!!!!
Glad you did not ruin your project:)

  7. ooooo I KNOW how that hurts! A few years back I was adjusting something on my machine and my dogs decided to rumble landing one of them on the foot. I was so shocked and home alone and not quite sure what to do with it!

    Feel better

  8. Well, that hurts just to look at it. But really is a good reminder to pay attention when sewing. Now, DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!

  10. Clean it really well and keep it clean as possible. Have you tried "liquid skin"? It's like a bandaid in a bottle it really works and would seal that very nicely :0). I just brought the needle down right next to my finger and had the sewing head hit my nail and break it while pulling the skin off the side of my finger......while working on Carolina Christmas!
Ugh is it old age or what?

  11. Ouch! I worked in custom picture framing business for years, had two shops of my own at various times and my cardinal rule was do not bleed on the art work... Of course I worked with a lot of glass and razor blades, but did you know your own spit works well to get blood out of fabric. It is the proteins in the saliva that match up with the blood and dilute it out. Hydrogen peroxide works well also.

Just letting you know some quick options...

Hugs and a finger kiss to make it better.
